About Me

Music and its place in the human experience has always been of special interest to me. I started playing piano at the age of 9, continuing on to earn my undergraduate degree in piano performance. I also pursued percussion, performing with the SOU Percussion Ensemble.

I graduated from Southern Oregon University in 2019 with a Master’s in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on the areas of psychology and music. My thesis examines the role of musical training in emotion regulation, particularly in the use of music as a regulation tool.

Work Experience

I’ve worked a variety of jobs, giving my all at each one. My most recent venture found me managing at a coffee shop, something I never thought I would be doing but ended up loving all the same. I view all of my previous jobs as valuable learning experiences, whether it’s sales or management.

Education and Research

Research has been my goal during my entire educational career. Doing the research for my undergraduate capstone project showed me how much it truly means to me. I’ve participated in a number of projects over the years.

My Writing

I’ve often relished in the craft of writing, whether it be for school or for fun. Please check out some more samples of my writing!

The Almeda Fire

On September 8th, 2020, I lost my home in one of the most destructive wildfires Oregon has ever seen. I wrote a piece reflecting on my experience that day, as well as what came after.
